Decision on Panchayat polls in Jammu and Kashmir after all-party meeting : Minister | KNO

Parliamentary affairs minister Abdul Rehman Veeri on Monday informed the Legislative Assembly that the announcement for holding Panchayat polls will be made after taking views from all the parties. “Minister for Rural Development department will convene an all party meeting to take decision on Panchayat elections,” he said. Earlier, the government had said that Panchayat polls will be held in the state from February 15. Opposition National Conference and the Congress have already said that the situation on ground is not right to hold the local body polls now.
